  • Combing fleece with Carders and Spinning to make Yarn
  • Weaving on Warp Weighted Looms to make Cloth
  • Dyeing Yarn Vibrant Colours from Herbs and Plants
Gathering on Woodland Trail

Will you be a Herbalist?

  • Gathering Iron Age Plants in the Herb Garden
  • Dyeing with Plants
  • Medicine making from Ointments to Poultices

Traders (Trading in the afternoon has two parts:)

Part 1: your class will swap real artefacts as they role play as celtic characters and use numerical problem solving in the trading game to barter for a wide range of goods.
Part 2: your pupils will enjoy Trading with Celtic coins, by swapping their pocket money for Catuvellaunni coins to trade for the more precious produce in the shop, with a wide range of heritage produce supporting local craftsmen.

Hunting

  • Test your aim as you Hunt the Wild Boar
  • Develop your foraging skills
  • Gather model mushrooms and fruit on the Woodland Trail

Storytelling Workshop

  • Listen to a Celtic story and ask any questions
  • A fun and lively session bringing Celtic folklore alive with imaginative interaction

Owl Flying Display Thursdays Only

  • Learn about the hunting techniques using birds of prey
  • See the owls up close and watch them ßy in this interactive display

Worrior talk

  • Learn battle techniques to keep you alive!
  • Work with the warrior, see the weapons
